Dave Richards set the tone in the ninth minute with a low save that kept Dundee Utd level in a 0-0 draw against Motherwell.

He dived low to his left to thwart Callum Hendry's header (9.), a big early stop that steadied United.

From there, the goalkeeper sparked The Arabs' best break, clipping long for Max Watters to run in behind before the striker dragged his chance wide (37.).

In the third minute of first half stoppage time he gathered Tawanda Maswanhise's drive cleanly, then after the restart he got down to turn away Hendry's skidding effort (63.).

Richards finished with three saves, one big chance created, eight recoveries and six successful final third passes, underpinning United's point with sharp handling and proactive distribution.

The Arabs host Celtic next. Motherwell welcome Dundee.
