Danny Namaso settled it in the 70th minute with a crisp low strike from outside the box, as Auxerre beat Brest 3-0.
Fed by Gideon Mensah, Namaso stepped onto the pass and drove a right-footer into the bottom right corner (70.). The finish arrived from the left channel, where he repeatedly found room to face up the centre-backs.
He then kept Auxerre secure out of possession, making three tackles, winning two of them, and producing two clearances before being replaced (84.). His work rate helped pin Brest deep and protect territory after the third goal.
On the ball, Namaso completed 21 of 24 passes and logged a key pass, with six successful passes in the final third. Those numbers underlined how he linked midfield to attack and sustained Auxerre's momentum late on.
Receiving between the lines and choosing his moments to run at defenders, he forced Brest to track him into awkward areas, which opened lanes for Auxerre's wide men to progress.
Auxerre remain 16th, occupying the relegation play-off spot, and visit Le Havre next. Brest are 11th and host Rennes next.
How high would you rate Namaso's performance tonight?
