Toby Oluwayemi set the tone in the 12th minute with a sharp save from distance, as Kilmarnock drew 0-0 at St Mirren. The 22-year-old made seven saves to preserve the clean sheet.
Early on, he read the flight of a dipping effort and held firmly under pressure. His handling settled Kilmarnock and foreshadowed a busy afternoon.
He then pushed away a close-range header (23.). A smart set piece stop followed as he gathered a central header cleanly (42.), before smothering a skidding effort from outside the box (45.).
After the restart he got down to turn a low strike round the post (60.). Moments later, he sprang left to tip a six-yard header towards the top corner (63.). He capped it by parrying another drive destined for the bottom corner (76.).
The goalkeeper finished with seven saves, three high claims and two punches, shutting the door despite St Mirren delivering 45 crosses. His command of the area and shot-stopping underlined why Kilmarnock left Paisley with a point.
Kilmarnock visit Dundee next. St Mirren go to Rangers next.
