Ross Stewart rescued a point for Southampton in the 74th minute with a close-range header, as they drew 2-2 with Bristol City.
Stewart attacked the back post to meet Tom Fellows' teasing cross (74.), rising between centre-backs to steer a glanced header into the bottom left.
He kept City's defence uneasy, getting caught offside as he played on the shoulder (77.). He then went close again, missing the top left in the seventh minute of second half stoppage time.
He finished with two attempts, one on target, three touches in the box and two aerial duels won, plus three possession regains and a key pass, underlining how his presence tilted territory in Saints' favour.
With The Saints funnelling play wide after the changes, his near and back post movements repeatedly attacked space, and The Robins struggled to deal with second balls and crosses into the six-yard area.
Saints remain fourth in the Championship and visit Manchester City in the FA Cup semi-finals next, before hosting Ipswich. City are 11th and go to Birmingham next.
