Craig Gordon set the tone in the seventh minute of first half stoppage time with a smart save, as Hearts beat Dundee 1-0.
With the Jambos reduced to 10, he was immediately called into action during first half stoppage time, parrying a low strike to protect the advantage.
The goalkeeper leapt right to tip a rising effort from Drey Wright away (87.), a key intervention as pressure mounted.
He then held a driven shot in the first minute of second half stoppage time and blocked Emile Acquah's close-range header in the fourth minute of second half stoppage time. He finished with four saves, including two from inside the box, plus a punch and a high claim, settling the Jam Tarts in a deep rearguard.
Hearts host St Mirren next in the Scottish Premiership, while Dundee visit Kilmarnock in the Scottish Cup.
