Manchester United have booked their spot in the Europa League final following their 4-1 victory over Athletic Club in the return leg of their semi-final tie.
United headed into the game with a healthy 3-0 advantage from the first contest at San Mames and they made no mistake, as they put the visitors to the sword in a stunning second-half blitz.
Mikel Jauregizar fired in from distance to silence the Old Trafford crowd in the first half. Athletic came out strong after the interval but Ruben Amorim’s men had an answer for everything that was thrown at them.
Amorim’s substitutes swung the momentum in United’s favour. Mason Mount produced a fantastic turn and finish to draw the Red Devils level. The contest was sealed when Casemiro nodded in a Bruno Fernandes free-kick, followed by Rasmus Hojlund slotting home from close range after a brilliant run and cross by Amad.
Mount saved the best for last as he fired an effort into an empty net from near the halfway line.
Several United stars delivered standout performances, but the pick of the bunch among the starters was Leny Yoro.
The defender delivered a monstrous defensive display, coming up with several blocks and interceptions to thwart Athletic when they were in the ascendancy.
The crowning moment of Yoro’s showing was his surging run and assist for Mount’s first goal.
During the time he was on the pitch, Yoro made four clearances and blocked as many shots. He made one interception and put in two tackles.
He was brilliant defensively. The Frenchman won six of the eight ground duels he contested and came out on top in four of the six aerial challenges he vied for.
Yoro drew four fouls.
The teenager successfully found his teammates with 38 of the 44 passes he attempted (86% pass accuracy). Two of his passes were key passes.
Yoro connected with two of the five balls he pinged.

It was a colossal performance from Yoro, who just keeps growing in strength and stature at United.
