Untimely UCL blow: Carrick confirms 7.0-rated Red had to be replaced due to injury vs Everton

Michael Carrick has confirmed that Marcus Rashford suffered a slight injury before being replaced against Everton yesterday.

The forward played 70 minutes before being replaced by Patrick Dorgu.

Given he had been one of United’s standout performers on Merseyside, fans were perplexed to see Rashford withdrawn when the side were chasing the win.

Carrick was also put on the spot regarding his withdrawal post-match, with Sky Sports questioning whether the England international had felt some discomfort, to which Carrick verified that was indeed the case.

Pressed on the exact nature of Rashford’s injury, the Red Devils boss said: “I’m not going into detail, but he felt a little bit of something so we had to change him, yeah.”
