In a recent report, The Daily Mail offered an update on Arsenal and their pursuit of Aston Villa star Ezri Konsa. It has been mentioned that the Gunners are prepared to launch another move for the English centre-back in this transfer window.
Konsa enjoyed a decent run of form at the West Midlands club in the previous campaign when he put in a string of impressive displays at the heart of their backline. The 28-year-old netted two goals and earned one assist in 48 appearances for Aston Villa last season across all competitions.
The English defender is currently one of the most talented centre-backs in the Premier League. Hence, it is no wonder that the Gunners are hoping to get a deal over the line for him this summer.
His current contract at Villa Park will run out in the summer of 2028, which could make it difficult for Arsenal to sign him on a cut-price deal this off-season.

Konsa is a solid tackler of the ball and can read the danger well to earn possession back for his side on the defensive end of the field. He usually clears the danger when the opposition are on the front foot and excels at playing his way out from inside his half.
The English talent can even contribute by scoring or creating a few crucial goals for his team. Konsa mainly plays as a centre-back but can also fill in as a right-back if asked to do so. He has a wealth of experience in the Premier League and won’t take much time to settle into life at Arsenal.
We can expect Konsa to enhance the quality of Mikel Arteta’s attack. He is capable of fighting for a regular starting spot at the Emirates Stadium next season.
At 28, Konsa is about to enter his prime, which makes him a great fit for the North London club’s needs in the short term. He will also help the Gunners compete across all fronts over the next few years. Therefore, Arteta would be wise to go all out to bring him on board before the end of this summer transfer window.
