In a recent post on X, respected journalist Fabrizio Romano offered an update on the future of Tottenham Hotspur defender Radu Dragusin. It is understood that the Romanian talent will leave Spurs to join Fiorentina on an initial loan deal with an obligation to buy clause included in his contract.

Dragusin’s Growing Struggles In North London

Dragusin struggled to secure regular first-team starts at Tottenham last season when he missed a lot of games due to a cruciate ligament tear. Still, the Romanian defensive ace managed to put in a few solid displays for them in the Premier League. He made 11 appearances for Spurs in the previous campaign but failed to score or create a goal for them on all fronts.

The 24-year-old is currently among the most talented defenders in his homeland. Hence, he could benefit from a change of scenery this summer in search of more game time next season.

Dragusin is under contract at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium until the summer of 2030. Hence, Spurs are under no immediate need to let him leave this off-season.

Dragusin Is Set To Leave Tottenham Hotspur This Summer: Good Move For Both Parties?

Dragusin is a good tackler of the ball and can scan the danger well to secure possession back for his team inside his half. He usually puts his foot through the ball when the opposition are on the front foot and is a tidy passer as well.

Standing at 1.91m, the Romania international can use his strong frame to dominate the opposition attackers in the air on the defensive end of the field. However, he is currently surplus to requirements at the North London club.

Hence, it is only fair to the player if Tottenham allow him to leave this summer. At 24, Dragusin needs to start regularly if he wants to get his career back on track.

Spurs can also benefit from cashing in on him this off-season. Tottenham boss Roberto De Zerbi should use the money generated from his exit to strengthen other areas of their squad. All in all, Dragusin’s departure would be a good move for both the player and the London club ahead of the new campaign.
