Jon Uriarte omitted Igor San Román when he thanked former board members during his inauguration speech.

According to El Correo, seven directors who arrived with Uriarte at Ibaigane in 2022 are no longer alongside him. Four, Adolfo Plaza, Egoitz Begoña, Ana Diez and Igor San Román, left during the term. Three others, Garazi Unibaso, Gorka Cubes and Ainhoa Iza, completed the mandate but did not stand for re-election.

In his remarks, Uriarte thanked ex-directors by first name, naming Adolfo, Egoitz, Garazi, Ana, Gorka and Ainhoa. He did not mention San Román, who was the last to depart before the end of the term.

San Román had been a senior figure on the board. He oversaw communications and was among those who persuaded Uriarte to lead a project from a small group of members seeking a strong presidential candidate.

His departure as a board member was officially attributed to personal and professional reasons. There had been a distancing from the current president, which San Román himself later confirmed by beginning moves to run for the presidency, then withdrawing with a statement saying he had the backing of many people.
