The U20 side Chivas had an unusually strong line-up on Sunday as both Uriel Antuna and Cristian Calderón featured as part of their punishments for breaking club rules on partying.
The pair were omitted from the senior squad due to face León later in the day.
Instead Antuna and Calderón played key roles as the younger Guadalajara side beat their León counterparts 2-0 in Verde Valle.
According to TUDN’s report on the game, Calderón enjoyed himself on the left flank by delivering numerous dangerous crosses.
Antuna almost opened the scoring with a shot that just cleared the crossbar before providing an assist for Sebastián ‘Chevy’ Martínez to volley home for the second.
The Flock’s first team will be looking to build on last weekend’s 1-0 win at Club Tijuana, but will need to do so without two of their regular starters.
