Cyril Courtin, Businessman and friend of LFP President Vincent Labrune, has bought Championnat National (French third tier) side US Orléans, reports L’Équipe.
Courtin is an Orléans native and owner of HR Path, a company specialising in human relations. He had already been a shareholder for many years and sees an opportunity in investing in his local club.
Phillipe Boutron, stepping down from the role after fifteen years, presented him to the press:
” It was for me the best project in terms of his roots in the community, the economic potential. There is also the quality of the man and the Businessman”.
Orléans currently sit 8th in the Championnat National, having been relegated from Ligue 2 at the end of the COVID-interrupted 2019/2020 season. Founded in 1976, the club finished runners-up of the 1980 Coupe de France, losing 3-1 to AS Monaco in the final. With Courtin at the helm, the club will hope to challenge for promotion again in the future.
