2024 CONCACAF Women’s Gold Cup hosts USA are through to the quarter-finals before a group decider with Mexico.
While Argentina held Mexico to a goalless Group A draw and lost 4-0 to the USA – Jaedyn Shaw bagging a brace, Alex Morgan and Lindsey Horan one apiece – the US put five past Dominican Republic, who conceded eight to the Mexicans.
The top four teams from CONMEBOL’s 2022 Copa América Femenina were confirmed as guests for the tournament.
Brazil are on course to win Group B following narrow victories against Puerto Rico and Colombia, Gabi Nunes making an 81st-minute breakthrough in the the former, Duda Santos netting early on in the latter. Puerto Rica have three points on the board after coming from behind to beat Panama 2-1, Danielle Marcano grabbing a stoppage-time winner.

Canada hit El Salvador for six in their opening Group C game, Adriana Leon netting twice, while there was one each for Cloe Lacasse, Jordyn Huitema, Kadeisha Buchanan and Olivia Smith. Paraguay edged Costa Rica 1-0 with a second-half Lica Chamorro effort.

The top two teams from each group and the two best third-place teams will advance to quarter-finals.
