USM Alger puts an end to the Boukhanchouche saga

USMA: Boukhanchouche leaves the club, it’s official!
USM Alger has officially ended its journey with Salim Boukhanchouche, after several weeks dealing with a situation that had become too burdensome for the club’s management. In a statement released on its social networks, the club confirmed an “amicable” termination, specifying that it had reached a definitive agreement with the player to move on. “The management of USM Alger announces that it has reached a mutual agreement with the player Salim Boukhanchouche for the termination of his contract,” the club said in its official message.
This departure comes as the 34-year-old midfielder was no longer part of Abdelhak Benchikha’s plans, with the coach himself reportedly giving the green light to finalize the separation. According to several internal sources, the coach believed that Boukhanchouche’s drop in performance was too significant to justify keeping him in the squad. After a prolonged dispute with the club’s sporting management, the player ultimately agreed to leave, accepting only his outstanding wages and no additional compensation.
Now a free agent, Boukhanchouche can set his sights on a new challenge. Several Algerian clubs, including CR Belouizdad and MC Alger, are reportedly already interested. For USMA, this split brings an end to a saga that defined the first half of the season.
