Matchweek three of the Women’s Champions League kicks off on Wednesday with four intriguing clashes.
Here’s what happened.
Scorers: Ingle 67′, Cuthbert 75′
Chelsea netted twice in the second half as they beat Real Madrid 2-0 to go clear at the top of Group A.
The Blues were aiming to keep up their 100 per cent record in the group stages so far as Los Blancos came to west London.
But it was a cat and mouse first half with neither side able to make their quality count in the final third.
Into the second half it was the Spanish giants who looked most likely to score with Caroline Weir impressing in between the lines.
It was the home side though, who got their noses in front, as Sophie Ingle ghosted in at the far post and headed in from close range.
Emma Hayes’s side then added a second with 15 minutes remaining as Erin Cuthbert’s crossed went over the goalkeeper and dropped into the back of the net.
Scorers: Giacinti 3′; Pajor 33′
Roma and Wolfsburg played out an entertaining 1-1 draw in the Italian capital.
This was a shoot-out between the two teams in Group B with an unbeaten record so far but it didn’t take long for the Italians to open the scoring.
Valentina Giacinti was the woman in the right place at the right time as she struck home for Roma after only three minutes.
The German visitors managed to get themselves back in the game though as Ewa Pajor equalised on 33 minutes.
Into the second half and Wolfsburg had their goalkeeper to thank for keeping the scores level as Merle Frohms made a stunning stop after Giacinti’s long range effort.
Scorers: Geyoro 39′, Gjergji (OG) 44′, Bachmann (PEN) 60′, Baltimore 75′, Folquet 85′
Paris Saint-Germain produced their finest performance of the season so far as they beat Vilaznia 5-0.
This was a battle between the bottom two sides in Group A but with Chelsea and Real Madrid playing later, a real chance to put pressure on those two powerhouses.
It was all PSG in the first half with the French side having nine shots in the first 45 minutes.
They made that dominance pay late on as Grace Geyoro finished with a neat chip over the onrushing goalkeeper.
And it got even better just moments later as Matilda Gjergji put one in her own net to double PSG’s advantage.
Into the second half and Les Parisien added a third on the hour mark as Ramona Bachmann netted from the penalty spot.
Sandy Baltimore then grabbed a fourth with a well-placed finish on 75 minutes before Magnaba Kone Folquet got a fifth.
Scorers: Mikolajova 90+1′
Group B’s bottom two sides met in the Czech capital with both teams looking for their first wins of the campaign.
But despite the poor quality of the finishing, the first half of this match was eminently watchable with the home side going closest late on.
Into the second half and St Polten grabbed a winner right at the death as Maria Mikolajova scored in injury time.
Jasim Eder got herself sent off in the fourth minute of added time but the visitors held out for a win.
