There are four Women’s Champions League games tonight, as the second round of the group stage was completed.

Chelsea continued their perfect start to Champions League life under Sonia Bompastor with a 3-1 win away to FC Twente.

The Blues took the early lead through Aggie Beever-Jones, who took on a ball played to her by Johanna Rytting Kaneryd before seeing her deflected shot nestle in the net.

They got their second in the moment of the night after 18 minutes. Maika Hamano played a one-two before brilliantly lobbing Olivia Clark from all of 25 yards out.

Chelsea wrapped up the points just after the hour through Guro Reiten, who got her 50th goal for the club from the penalty spot.

Twente got themselves on the scoresheet shortly after via an excellent goal from Nikee van Dijk, who slotted past Zecira Musovic after beating a defender for pace, but it was little more than a consolation.

Lyon win in battle of previous champions

In a repeat of four previous finals, eight-time champions Lyon defeated Wolfsburg 2-0 at the AOK Stadium.

The French giants scored in the eight minute of both halves to seal the points and make it two wins from two in the competition this year.

Wendie Renard rose highest to nod them into the lead, before Lindsey Horan slotted home from the penalty spot to seal an impressive victory.

Lyon sit behind Roma on goal difference, while two-time champions Wolfsburg face an uphill task to qualify after a second straight defeat.

Real Madrid too strong for Celtic in the end

Real Madrid got their first points of the new Champions League season with a 4-0 victory against Celtic at the Alfredo di Stefano Stadium.

It took just seven minutes for Real to open the scoring, and it came via a player extremely well known to Celtic, Caroline Weir. The 102-time capped Scotland international curled home brilliantly from the right-hand side.

Real sealed the three points in the last 20 minutes with strikes from Danish pair Signe Bruun and Caroline Møller, as well as a penalty from Linda Caicedo.

The Spanish giants are up and running, while Celtic are now rooted to the bottom of Group B.

Roma run riot in Istanbul

Roma continued their 100% start to this season’s Champions League with a dominant 6-1 win away to Galatasaray.

The Italian side needed just seven minutes to take the lead through Hawa Cissoko. The French defender nodded home from a corner on her debut in the competition.

It was 2-0 17 minutes later, this time Valentina Giacinti being the one to put a header into the Gala net.

After the break, it was more of the same, with Emilie Haavi and Manuela Giugliano getting in on the act. Haavi smashed home from outside the box before putting a cross in for her captain to tap home.

Andrea Stašková pulled one back for the hosts before Marta Pandiani and Alice Corelli got Roma’s fifth and sixth to cap off a brilliant night for them. As for Gala, the Turkish giants now face an almighty task to qualify for the knockout stages.
