The Round 1 and 2 draws took place at UEFA headquarters in Nyon, Switzerland earlier today and were streamed live via the association’s official media channels.
As the third-placed team in this season’s Barclays Women’s Super League, Manchester United will enter the 2025/2026 UEFA Women’s Champions League in Round 2. In a change to next season’s schedule, the round will be played in a mini-tournament format with The Red Devils having to play a one-off semi-final tie before potentially taking on the winners of the other tie in the final. The overall Round 2 winners will then go into Round 3 qualifying.
The Round 2 draw determined that Manchester United will face PSV Eindhoven in the semi-finals. Should they be successful, Marc Skinner’s side will then take on either Hammarby IF or FC Metalist 1925 Kharkiv in the final. If they lose their semi-final tie, they must contest a third-place play-off. Those sides finishing second and third will enter the qualifying rounds of the new UEFA Europa Cup.
The Round 2 semi-final ties will be staged on 27 August 2025 while the final and third-place play-off will take place on 30 August 2025. Kick-off times and venues will be agreed in due course.
As trophy holders, Arsenal will enter this season’s UEFA Women’s Champions League in the League Phase while Chelsea will also start the competition at the same stage due to them being reigning champions of England.
