Valencia return to the pitches at the Ciudad Deportiva de Paterna to begin pre-season, more than a month after their last league game against Barcelona at Mestalla.

According to AS, not all players will be present, with Javi Guerra and Stole Dimitrievski granted a few more days off after international duty pushed back their holidays.

Sato and Dieng, whose deals are done but not yet announced, are due to arrive in the city during the week. The Malian played a friendly for his national team on the fourth of June, so his break runs longer. Cenl Özkacar is also absent, he is not in Corberán’s plans and has permission to find a move away from Mestalla.

Two confirmed additions will train with the group, Guido and De Haas. The Dutchman has already been around the squad in recent days. Guido featured at Mestalla in the second half of last season and knows the dressing room.

The opening days are usually tough, with the heat biting and the summer lay-off amplifying the physical load.

Corberán has scheduled double sessions on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday, with Sunday off. Next week the squad will travel to Girona for a week-long camp, where they will play their first friendly of the summer.
