Valencia have confirmed César Tárrega has a right hamstring injury and will miss the next two matches, deepening their defensive problems.

The club said in a statement that the issue was sustained against Sevilla and that he will follow a medical, physiotherapy and reconditioning plan at the club’s training ground. His recovery will dictate the exact date of his return.

For the trip to Vitoria, Valencia have only one senior centre-back available, Justin De Haas.
