Valencia handed training boost as Pepelu rejoins group | OneFootball

Valencia received a timely lift in England as Pepelu rejoined the group on Thursday at St George's Park in Birmingham during their second pre-season camp.

According to Superdeporte, the midfielder completed part of the session under Carlos Corberán, the first time since taking a heavy blow to a rib in the meeting with Castellón, and will train in the gym this afternoon.

He remains a doubt for the team’s next friendly before returning to València to continue pre-season.

The squad are based in England, where they have crossed paths with Barcelona and Real Sociedad, and will stay until Saturday when they face Stoke City at the Bet365 Stadium in Stoke-on-Trent.

Staying in Paterna were Nigerian striker Sadiq Umar with a hamstring problem picked up against Castellón, Rubo Iranzo, injured in last Friday’s training, and Dimitri Foulquier who continues his knee recovery.

Long-term absentees José Copete, Diego López, Sergi Canós and Alberto Marí also remain in València.
