Valencia have scoured the market for low-cost options in recent summers and one of their latest conquests is Patric.
The Spanish defender is a versatile option for Los Che and could perhaps slot in to replace the departed Daniel Wass, who signed for Atletico Madrid in January.
Valencia were reportedly close to signing Patric at the time, but according to LazioNews24 as carried by The Laziali, Patric was convinced to stay until the summer by the Roman club. The defender is out of contract in June and was expected to make a return to Spain thereafter. Now the Biancocelesti are seeking to fight off further interest from Valencia and have offered the defender a new deal, although at a lower salary.
Patric has featured often for Lazio this summer and has been in Italy for what is approaching seven years, having started his career at La Masia in Barcelona. From 2012 to 2015, Patric racked up appearances for Barcelona B but never quite made the jump to the first team.
