Transfers remain a big priority for Barcelona this summer, and they are working on several operations. So far, however, the pace of the work that they have done has been rather slow. As a result of that, Barcelona are taking their time to wrap up certain deals.
After all, the arrival of a new left-winger ended up taking a lot of time and that was their priority operation. From failed deals to unfeasible targets, the club had to go back and forth before they ultimately decided to sign Marcus Rashford and bring him to the club.
However, even though the player has already signed his contract with the club, the official announcement is yet to come. On the other hand, there are certain exit operations that Barcelona is paying a lot of attention to as well.

One such case is that of 33-year-old Barcelona veteran Oriol Romeu. After spending last season on loan with Girona, he is now back at the club but another departure this summer seems like the most likely outcome for him.
According to SPORT, moreover, there is now a team besides Girona that would be interested in having him if possible. That team is Valencia, and they would be willing to consider the possibility of acquiring the player if he terminates his current Barcelona contract and reduces his salary.
In turn, that would essentially make him a free agent and much more accessible for both Girona and Valencia due to the financial cost of the whole operation. Interestingly, however, Girona is not the only team that he has played for before when it comes to the two interested teams in question.
Back in the 2013-2014 season, he also joined Valencia on loan from Chelsea for one season. Now, more than a decade later, the player could possibly rejoin that same club if the right conditions are met and Valencia’s interest in him turns out to be concrete enough.
As a result of all this uncertainty about his future, the player’s current progress with Barça might also be limited. The club is set to embark on a journey to Asia for their preseason tour, and Romeu is now one of the players who might not be included in the travelling squad.
