Valencia eased relegation fears with a second straight league win sealed by a last-gasp strike, prompting celebrations at Mestalla.
According to Superdeporte, close to midnight the club’s official X account posted a mountain image with a message urging belief in the process and saying big things are on the way, but only on its English-language feed, not the main Spanish or Valencian accounts.
The language mirrors Ron Gourlay’s public line, asking supporters to believe in him, his work and that things will be different now, even if similar messages have been heard from previous directors.
This latest proclamation arrived after only two victories and a temporary four-point buffer above the relegation zone, with the club presenting the moment as part of a process.
Replies from supporters ranged from disbelief to anger at the timing and tone, given it follows just two league wins in a volatile season and with the team still stuck in a mediocre position.
