Valencia’s player ratings from a 2-1 turnaround at Villarreal, with Danjuma unable to punish his former club. The forward spurned a late one-on-one on his return to La Cerámica.
AS reports that Ramazani converted a penalty for 0-1, his third of the season. He then conceded a handball penalty before the break after a VAR review, and Dimitrevski, who had earlier denied Mouriño and Pepe, could not prevent Villarreal’s two goals.
Copete cleared off the line, then his attempted clearance dropped to Comesaña for the equaliser. Gayà delivered dangerous crosses but misjudged the equaliser and lost Ayoze, with the hosts also appealing for a penalty against him. Cömert was steady on the ball.
Unai Núñez coped at right-back with Rioja’s cover, a second-half booking hastened his withdrawal. Guido impressed on his recall, Ugrinic was powerful and almost scored with a first-half header. Javi Guerra fed Sadiq for the penalty and pushed higher after the interval.
Sadiq’s persistence won the opener, he later slipped Danjuma through twice and saw a scruffy 88' chance saved. Danjuma was booed and missed a clear opening 10 minutes from time. Thierry returned from injury, Duro had little service, and Vázquez won a couple of duels with Pepe.
