Valencia star responds to Bayern Munich links | OneFootball

A leading member of the first-team setup at La Liga outfit Valencia has on Monday responded to recent speculation, linking him with a move to Bayern Munich.

The player in question? Giorgi Mamardashvili.

Goalkeeper Mamardashvili has of course taken his place front and centre in the headlines across all of Europe over the last couple of weeks.

As much comes as the 23-year-old continues to build a reputation for himself as one of the continent’s standout players in his role.

Mamardashvili is fresh off a standout campaign on the books of the aforementioned Valencia, since going on to shine bright at the European Championships with his home country of Georgia, too.

Such exploits have given rise to inevitable links with some of Europe’s leading clubs, with one such outfit coming in the form of the aforementioned Bayern Munich.

The Bavarians are understood to consider Mamardashvili as a potential long-term replacement for the legendary Manuel Neuer.

It is the ongoing presence of the German international at the Allianz Arena, however, which has today seen the Valencia man move to play down the rumours linking him with a move to Bayern.

Speaking in an interview with Sky Germany, Mamardashvili was drawn directly on his interest in taking his talents to Munich.

The Georgian, however, went on to assure that:

“Bayern still have the best goalkeeper in the world. It’s currently not possible to move there. I would only go there if I’ll play. If I don’t play, then not.”
