According to Superdeporte, Valencia are finalising a deal to sign FC Tokyo winger Ryunosuke Sato. The 19-year-old is to join Carlos Corberán’s first team on a contract to 2028, with the fee around four million euros.

The move is led by director of recruitment and scouting Lisandro Isei, and due to his age Sato could be registered as under-23. He has opted for Valencia despite an offer from Feyenoord.

Sato has broken through in Japan’s top flight this season, making 19 appearances for FC Tokyo with six goals and one assist. He also featured in this week’s Japanese league All-Star game and scored.

At international level he has already debuted for Japan’s senior side, winning five caps, and previously represented his country across all youth age groups. The 1.71 metres attacker is noted for mobility, speed and runs into space, fitting the club’s youth-focused recruitment.

His arrival would represent a strategic investment, with scope for development on the pitch and in international markets.
