Valencia will trigger the option to extend Stole Dimitrievski’s contract by two years, keeping him at the club until 2028. AS reports that the decision follows his strong form, particularly in the second half of the season.

The clause allows renewal for two seasons for a payment of 500,000 euros, and his terms will improve over that period.

An announcement is expected in the coming days. The 32-year-old would see out the deal at 34 if he completes it.

The goalkeeping department currently comprises the Macedonian and Cristian Rivero, who agreed fresh terms a few months ago. Agirrezabala returns to Athletic.

Dimitrievski has already shown he has the stature to be Valencia’s first-choice keeper, having put earlier issues with the coach and club behind him.

It remains to be seen whether Valencia move for another goalkeeper in the market or promote Abril or Raúl Jiménez as a third option.
