Valencia returned to work after a rest day following their win at Mendizorroza against Deportivo Alavés. The session brought a concern, with Guido Rodríguez absent after limping off in the Basque Country due to a stamp that left him with toe pain.
According to Superdeporte, it was a recovery session for the starters from Vitoria and was held under the eye of Braulio Vázquez, who chatted with the coaching staff.
Rodríguez had formed a promising midfield partnership with Aarón Mayol on his comeback from a prior issue. After the match he explained that he felt physically fine, but the substitution came because a stamp left his toe too sore to run.
He is still in significant discomfort, though he wants to feature against Real Sociedad on Sunday. He will look to rejoin group training in the coming days.
Valencia target a first win at Mestalla in that game. It comes before an international break that will last longer than usual.
