Valencia will be on the lookout for a new striker during the summer transfer window, as a replacement is needed for Roman Yaremchuk. The Ukrainian arrived on a season-long loan from Club Brugge, but it’s highly unlikely that he will be able to stay on for the 2024-25 campaign.

One player that Valencia want to sign in the summer is Toni Martinez. The 26-year-old came through Los Che’s academy, before departing for West Ham United in 2016. He currently plays for Portuguese giants Porto, although he has been massively out of favour for the entirety of this season.

As per Diario AS, re-signing Martinez is a “long-standing desire” that Valencia have. They are unsuccessful in their efforts to bring him to the Mestalla last summer, but with his situation at Porto looking bleak, a deal is sure to be much more possible this time around.

If Martinez does sign, the idea is for him to partner Hugo Duro in Valencia’s attack. Ruben Baraja’s vision could be set to become clearer.
