According to Superdeporte, Valencia are still finalising their goalkeeping plans a few days before the league opener, with recruiting a challenger to Stole Dimitrievski remaining on the agenda.

Dimitrievski is under contract until 2028 and is the undisputed starter. Cristian Rivero remains on the bench and has a deal through 2027.

With recruitment unresolved, attention has turned to Valencia Mestalla. Raúl Jiménez and Vicent Abril are both highly rated and considered to have strong potential.

The club do not want to lose either in the medium term, but prefer one to go on loan this season. Abril has offers from Liga Hypermotion, for example Sabadell, though any move is on hold until another first‑team keeper arrives.

Cope reports that Jiménez returned to training on Monday after several weeks out injured. The plan remains for him to start for Mestalla and serve as the first team’s third choice, while the definitive arrival of a new goalkeeper would see Rivero depart again.
