Valencia are finalising the next steps for Ryunosuke Sato and Aliou Dieng, with supporters chiefly wondering when the Malian midfielder will arrive. The club have already presented Justin de Haas and confirmed Guido Rodríguez on a deal until June 2028.
According to Superdeporte, Dieng has had everything agreed since late March and is on extra holiday while a visa is processed. He could travel to Valencia between the end of next week or, at the latest, the following one.
His downtime follows post-season duty with Mali after the 2025/26 campaign. His last outing was a friendly in Türkiye against World Cup-bound Iran on four June, which Mali lost, and he wore the captain’s armband. Dieng won the African Champions League in 2023 and 2024 with Al Ahly of Egypt.
Like Javi Guerra, who debuted for Spain against Iraq in Riazor, and Stole Dimitrievski, who featured in warm-up matches for North Macedonia, Dieng has extra rest days. The three internationals are scheduled to start from the end of next week, around 10 July, though Dieng’s return could slip to the week starting Monday 13 July.
Between late next week and early the following, Dieng could take his photos in the new shirt and be made official as a Valencia player. If the visa is completed in the next 24-48 hours, he could arrive sooner, eager to work under Carlos Corberán in pre-season.
Sato arrived in Valencia at midday on Monday six July. Farewelled by Tokyo late this week, his signing will be confirmed after a medical and he will wear the club’s colours for the first time at the Ciutat Esportiva de Paterna.
