Van Basten: Why did Man Utd go to Thailand and Australia?!

Netherlands legend Marco van Basten has slammed Manchester United for their preseason tour of Asia and Australia.

Erik Ten Hag has lost to Brighton and Brentford in his first two Premier League games in charge.

And van Basten thinks United have not helped their new manager with their 'idiotic' preseason plans.

"What I find strange is that every year in preparation they make a kind of world tour," Van Basten told Dutch broadcaster Ziggo Sport.

"That kills the group. It's ridiculous, idiotic. They have to stop doing that. Physically, it's just heartbreakingly bad.

"They do everything they can to make more money, but it's nonsense."
