Van den Belt set to switch Feyenoord for FC Twente after Spanish loan move

According to Voetbal International’s Geert-Jan Jakobs, Thomas van den Belt is on his way from Feyenoord to FC Twente.

Van den Belt spent last season on loan in Spain’s second tier with CD Castellón. It is believed midfielder preferred a longer stay in Spain, but he has eventually opted for Twente.

Twente reported to De Kuip weeks ago and quickly reached an agreement with the Rotterdam club. A personal agreement is also in sight, and now only the medical examination remains. The only afterthought remains that Castellón’s purchase option could throw a spanner in the works.

Although it is expected that this clause from last season’s loan deal will not be exercised, the transfer to FC Twente could still be delayed somewhat.
