Liverpool entertained Atletico Madrid at Anfield earlier tonight as they hoped to secure a win at home in the UEFA Champions League. The Reds made a dream start to the game as they got their noses ahead in the fourth minute thanks to Andy Robertson’s fortunate goal. Mohamed Salah doubled his team’s advantage just two minutes later with a good finish. However, Marcos Llorente got a goal back for the visitors in the dying embers of the first half as Arne Slot’s men went into the half-time break 2-1 up on the scoreline.
Llorente managed to equalise for Diego Simeone’s side in the 81st minute with a deflected effort. However, Virgil Van Dijk stepped up and scored the match-winning goal for Liverpool in injury time. The contest finished with the Reds earning a last-gasp 3-2 win at Anfield.
Let’s take a look at how each Liverpool player fared during the clash against Atletico Madrid.
The Brazilian keeper made a couple of solid saves at the back, but won’t be pleased after conceding twice tonight.

He came back to defend when needed, but offered very little going forward.
CB: Ibrahima Konate – 7/10
Konate put his foot through the ball when he could, but failed to keep the visitors quiet tonight.
CB: Virgil Van Dijk – 8.5/10
He was a rock at the back and stepped up to score the match-winner with a great header in injury time.
