Van Dijk returns for Liverpool, Jones out of squad: Lineup vs AS Monaco | OneFootball

Virgil van Dijk, Alisson Becker and Cody Gakpo have been named in the Liverpool side to face AS Monaco this afternoon.

The trio make their first appearances of the pre-season at Anfield, after late returns from World Cup duty. Summer signing Victor Munoz is also named on the bench and could debut,

There’s no place in the Liverpool squad for Curtis Jones, whose absence has been called a pre-caution. The midfielder has been linked with a transfer away from Liverpool this summer, with Inter Milan keen on a deal.

Elsewhere, Alexander Isak leads the line for Andoni Iraola’s side, with Florian Wirtz in support. The fixture is Liverpool’s fourth of the pre-season campaign, following clashes against Sunderland, Wrexham and Leeds United in the USA.

It’s the first of an Anfield double-header ahead of the Premier League season, with Como the visitors next weekend.
