Kayne van Oevelen has joined Valencia on loan from Ipswich Town until the end of the season, strengthening their goalkeeping options. He becomes the club’s sixth summer signing after De Haas, Sato, Maffeo, Dieng and Guido.

According to AS, he arrived in the city on Sunday and did not train on Monday as final paperwork remained. If all goes well, he will be included in the squad to face Betis on Tuesday.

Van Oevelen is the ninth Dutch player to represent Valencia, following Maduro, Wilkes, Cillessen, Rep, Danjuma, Patrick Kluivert, Justin Kluivert and De Haas. He is the second Dutch goalkeeper after Jasper Cillessen, who made 57 appearances.

A product of AFC Amsterdam, he joined FC Volendam at 17, winning promotion to the Eredivisie in 2024-25. He made 64 appearances for Volendam before moving to the Premier League club this summer.

Since his breakthrough, his progress has placed him among the goalkeepers with the highest save percentages across European leagues. He is noted for sharp reflexes, aerial assurance, his 1.99-metre frame and composure with the ball at his feet.
