VAR-confirmed penalty sparks Troyes climb to third | OneFootball

Troyes beat Lorient 2-1 at Stade du Moustoir, climbing to third as Renaud Ripart's VAR-confirmed penalty set up a first league win of the season.

VAR confirmed the spot kick after a handball by Jean-Victor Makengo in the 26th minute. Ripart converted (29.).

Lucas Maronnier doubled the lead from close range after Antoine Mille's headed pass (38.).

After the restart, Makengo pulled one back with a right-footed strike into the top right corner from outside the area (51.).

Patrick Beach made four saves, including a late stop from Montassar Talbi in the third minute of second half stoppage time. Lorient dominated the ball with 67.2% possession and produced six shots on target. Troyes registered two efforts on target and cleared their lines 29 times to see it out.
