Vasco agreed on Friday to terminate left-back Victor Luís’s contract, ending a deal that was due to run until the end of 2027.
The 32-year-old has an agreement in place with Mirassol and should be announced in the coming days, according to Globo.com.
His release has already been recorded in the CBF’s Daily Bulletin, BID. He is the 15th player to leave the club in this transfer window.
Competition at left-back increased this window. With Lucas Piton established, the board had already signed Cuiabano, formerly of Botafogo and Nottingham Forest.
The club have also lined up a pre-contract with Paulinho of América-MG, who is due to report mid-year as further cover.
As a result, Victor Luís fell down the pecking order and was not in the coaching staff’s plans. He also ceded the back-up role to youngster João Victor Mutano, used at left-back despite being a forward by trade.
