Vasco have approved projects to raise public funds for women’s football and futsal.
According to Globo.com, the women’s project with the Rio de Janeiro state government targets R$ 3,327,496.25 for delivery across 2026. The funds, drawn from a state incentive, will cover staff, services, taxes, administration and media activities as approved, and the club must file year-end accounts with the State Secretariat of Sport, Leisure and Youth.
The club is reshaping its women’s set-up after many departures last month. Vasco compete in the national second tier and are seeking improvement on recent seasons. Rubens Franco was named head coach at the end of December.
In futsal, a funding agreement with the Ministry of Sport worth R$ 3,919,590.10 has been approved to support the programme until 26 May 2027. The approval has been published in the Federal Official Gazette.
In 2025, the professional futsal team won the state title for the 12th time at the end of December. The club also lifted the sub-15, sub-17 and sub-20 titles in the second half of the year.
These initiatives form part of Vasco’s strategy to strengthen disciplines and broaden funding sources, with a focus on sporting development and social impact.
