Estrella arrived in Maceió on Thursday to complete medicals and sign a loan deal with CRB. The 21-year-old midfielder will leave Vasco, who are looking to revive another academy talent by following recent success stories.
According to Globo.com, CRB executive Ari Barros confirmed the talks, with the move set, in principle, to run until the end of the year. After a review at Vasco, Estrella has played only one game in 2026, coming off the bench in the 3-0 win over Boavista.
His progress in the first team has been curtailed by injuries. Knee issues since 2024 limited him to three appearances last season, then competition for places increased after the latest arrivals and he stepped down to the under-20s for decisive fixtures.
Vasco point to Cauan Barros as the clearest example. The midfielder earned minutes on loan at Amazonas and América-MG before returning to become a mainstay under Fernando Diniz.
In 2025, JP spent a loan spell at Avaí, making 28 appearances and scoring five goals. He came back to Vasco with the staff’s backing and has featured three times this year, all as a substitute.
The expectation is that Estrella will find opportunities at CRB to rebuild form reminiscent of 2024. The squad also includes centre-back Lyncon, 20, on loan from Vasco, who is yet to debut.
Vasco have also arranged four further loans this window, Garré to Aris Salónica in Greece, Sforza to Talleres, Riquelme to Panserraikos FC in Greece, and GB to Fortaleza.
