According to PaponaColina, Vasco have confirmed the permanent transfer of 21-year-old midfielder JP to Casa Pia in Portugal, with the financial terms and percentages undisclosed.

The Vasco academy graduate had been under contract until the end of 2028, concluding a six-season spell at São Januário. Born in Goiânia, he joined in 2020 at 15, progressing to the under-20s in 2022.

A breakout year in 2023 pushed him towards the first team. He made his senior debut in the 2024 Brasileiro, a 2-1 home win over Grêmio, and ended that season with 11 appearances and one assist.

Seeking minutes, JP spent 2025 on loan at Avaí, starting regularly and recording 28 games, five goals and one assist, which earned him a return to Rio.

Back at Vasco in 2026 he struggled for minutes, featuring in only nine matches without a goal contribution. His last outing came in the 3-1 defeat to Olimpia in Paraguay in the Copa Sudamericana.

The lack of minutes accelerated talks that led to the deal. Vasco have wished him well at Casa Pia and are focusing on midfield reinforcements before the window closes.
