Vasco are exploring a move to bring academy winger Erick Marcus back from Ludogorets, Bulgaria, with contact led by head coach Fernando Diniz and football director Felipe Loureiro. According to PaponaColina, the 2024 sale could be revisited as the club weigh a short-term addition in attack.

The move appeals because he knows São Januário and would not need adaptation, however his recent European form has fallen well short of expectations, raising doubts over his impact.

This season he has 30 appearances, 18 starts, only 2 goals and 2 assists across more than 1,600 minutes for Ludogorets. By contrast, his previous campaign in Europe brought 14 goal involvements in 39 matches.

A youth product at Vasco, he is a natural winger with one-on-one ability and a powerful shot. Even so, his senior spell oscillated, with bright moments but no sustained run as an undisputed starter.

Diniz is known to prefer quick, dribble-first wide players, and the plan would be to rebuild Erick’s confidence and use him as a pace option across a busy schedule. Any return would be a low-cost depth move, carrying more risk than the status of an immediate starter.
