Vasco have extended the loan of João Vitor “Mutano”, the 20-year-old forward owned by Nova Iguaçu, until June after his deal was due to expire this week, according to Globo.com.
Mutano has been training with the first team and is expected to feature in the opening games of the Campeonato Carioca. Vasco begin their state campaign on 14 January against Maricá.
He joined Vasco at 18 after being monitored while at Nova Iguaçu in state tournaments. At youth level he has also been used at right-back.
An important figure for the under-20s, he made 47 appearances this season and scored six goals. He can play on either wing, through the middle in attack and at full-back.
This is the third time Vasco have renewed his deal. The first agreement ran to mid 2025, then to the end of the year. It has now been extended again.
