Ahead of the second leg of the Copa do Brasil final, Vasco have 13 players still seeking a first national or international top-flight title. According to Globo.com, five of them started the last match, and from that XI only Léo Jardim has previously lifted the Copa do Brasil.
To keep the count tight, the survey included only those named for the first leg against Corinthians, plus the injured Lucas Piton, Jair and Adson, who feature regularly when fit.
The 13 chasing a maiden major trophy are Paulo Henrique, Lucas Piton, Cauan Barros, Thiago Mendes, Nuno Moreira, Vegetti, Rayan, Lucas Oliveira, Paulinho, Mateus Carvalho, Adson, GB and Pablo.
For a player to be listed as a champion, he must have been named in at least one match in the competition, even if unused. Youth, regional and lower-division titles were not counted.
Six in the squad have already won the Copa do Brasil, Léo Jardim, Matheus França, Victor Luis, Tchê Tchê, Jair and David, who has two. Of those, only Jair, Tchê Tchê and David, with São Paulo, appeared in at least five games in their winning campaign.
Counting second-tier honours would add five more titles, Coutinho with Vasco in 2009, Thiago Mendes with Goiás in 2012 and Lucas Oliveira with Cruzeiro in 2022 won Série B, while Vegetti won Argentina's second division with Belgrano in 2022 and Lucas Freitas the Portuguese second tier with Moreirense in 22/23. Tchê Tchê is the most decorated domestically and Coutinho leads the tally abroad.
