Vasco keep tabs on Adson, set date for his return

Vasco is working with two important names in the Health and Performance Department (DESP) who will not return this year. In addition to Jair, forward Adson also remains sidelined. The club detailed the recovery process of the number 28, who is only expected to return in 2026.

Adson’s Second Serious Injury

This is the second ordeal for Adson since he arrived at Vasco. In July of this year, he suffered a direct fracture to the tibia of his right leg. The injury occurred after a clash during a training session at CT Moacyr Barbosa.

The player underwent surgery to fix the bone. The problem is that this is the same leg that was injured in 2024. That year, Adson suffered a stress fracture in the tibia, underwent surgery, and after complications with the fixation plate, needed another procedure, only returning to play in March 2025.

The Status of Recovery at Vasco

The club reported that Adson is “clinically doing very well.” The 25-year-old player is already alternating between indoor activities and fieldwork, accompanied by physiotherapy and physical preparation. The process, however, is being handled cautiously.

DESP is periodically monitoring “bone consolidation” through X-rays. With just over a month left in the season, the Gigante da Colina will not speed up the process. Adson has played 50 matches for the club and is under contract until 2028.
