Vasco have sent a formal letter to the CBF contesting Lucas Paulo Torezin’s refereeing in the 3-3 draw at Mineirão and arranged a meeting with the Comissão de Arbitragem this afternoon. The club said in a statement that the document details the incidents in question.

The letter was filed on Monday morning following the match against Cruzeiro. Vasco believe three key decisions went against them.

They point to a late first-half challenge by William on Tchê Tchê, which they say merited a red card and was not checked by VAR. The other complaints concern first-half penalty appeals, for a shove on Andrés Gómez and a pull on Robert Renan.

After the game, executive Admar Lopes criticised the official, calling the display unacceptable, alleging a home-leaning tendency in away fixtures and describing the non-decisions as shameful.

Heated scenes continued in the tunnel, where president Pedrinho argued with the referee about the two unawarded penalties. A police officer used pepper spray to quell tensions, and the Minas Gerais military police later filed a general incident report against Vasco’s leadership. Tenente-coronel Henrique Nunes said club directors were accused of provoking disorder, with one official naming Pedrinho among the most inflamed.

The officiating team gave statements at the stadium police station, and some members of the Vasco delegation were also taken there. In his match report, Torezin wrote that the Vasco president called him arrogant, overbearing and haughty.
