Vasco have shifted from a six-signing window to contract housekeeping, sealing a new deal for Ramon Rique and opening talks over Jair while assessing buy options on loanees.

According to Globo.com, 18-year-old midfielder Ramon Rique, previously contracted until September 2029, will extend to the end of 2030 with a pay rise after breaking through under Pedro Emanuel. Admar Lopes has also tabled a renewal offer to Jair, whose deal expires this year.

Jair’s contract included an automatic one-year extension if he featured in at least 60% of matches from July to the end of the season. A muscle injury last month makes that threshold unlikely, though both player and club want to extend.

The football department will now review loan players with purchase options, with an initial 2027 financial projection to guide decisions in the coming weeks. Each case will be examined individually.

Four sit in that bracket, Cuiabano, Robert Renan, Carlos Cuesta and Johan Rojas, all tied to the club until this season’s end. New signing Gabriel Pereira, presented on Thursday, has joined on loan until June 2027 with a purchase option that could become an obligation if targets are met, running to December 2030.

The club are understood to be pleased with the group, although some, such as Rojas, have played less, and any buys would require a financial effort. They want to keep Robert Renan, Cuesta, Cuiabano and Rojas next season, with Robert Renan viewed as the main priority. The arrival of a new SAF investor is seen as crucial to concluding agreements and easing cash flow.
