Vasco outline R$ 120 million training centre inspired by RB Bragantino | OneFootball

Vasco have begun to unveil projects tied to Marcos Lamacchia, who has an agreement lined up to acquire the SAF. According to Globo.com, the businessman and president Pedrinho presented plans for a new training centre to Rio city hall on Thursday.

The club have appointed architect Renato Malki, selected for designing RB Bragantino’s base, opened in 2024, which the Vasco board view as their primary inspiration. That model is valued for using technology in daily routines and for integrating accommodation and hospitality.

Pedrinho and other executives toured Bragantino’s facility in 2024 before its official opening. They returned last year to observe operations after months of use by players, staff and media.

Bragantino’s complex is in Atibaia, near Bragança Paulista, home of the Nabi Abi Chedid stadium, with construction from late 2021 to April 2024. It includes seven pitches, five natural and two synthetic, a mini stadium, accommodation, restaurants, two gyms, a running track, study rooms, an auditorium, a leisure room and support areas.

Malki’s hiring aims to keep that blueprint, but Vasco plan a centre even more modern than Bragantino’s. Lamacchia’s investment is projected at R$ 120 million.

Alongside the SAF sale process, Pedrinho and Lamacchia hold weekly talks with Rio mayor Eduardo Cavaliere to secure all permits required. The club want guarantees the build can continue even if city leadership changes.

Construction will take place in the same area as the current CT Moacyr Barbosa, with club-owned plots next to the site earmarked for expansion subject to city approval.
