Vasco booked a Copa do Brasil semi-final spot with a 2-0 win over Vitória in Salvador, Andrés Gómez and Puma Rodríguez providing the goals.

Spinelli twice threatened from deliveries, supplied by Puma Rodríguez and Lucas Piton, heading against the post from the latter's cross.

After the restart, Piton tested from a free-kick but struck tamely. David released Colidio for a gilt-edged chance that went begging, and Adson drew a save with a firm effort before being replaced a minute later. With Tchê Tchê on, Vasco enjoyed more control in midfield.

Gómez finally broke through with a left-foot strike from outside the area. In stoppage time, Colidio teed up Puma Rodríguez, who nutmegged Osvaldo and finished across goal to seal it. Head coach Pedro Emanuel set his side to sit deep from the start and Vitória created little.
