Vasco have reached verbal agreements with Franclim Carvalho and Nelson Deossa, but ongoing legal uncertainty around the club’s SAF is blocking any signings, according to Globo.com.
Since Pedrinho was removed from the SAF by the courts, administrator Samantha Longo has overseen football. Director Admar Lopes agreed terms with the Botafogo coach and with Real Betis, and Longo authorised the moves, yet both remain wary while an administrator runs the club.
Franclim has told Vasco he recalls Álvaro Pacheco’s arrival amid uncertainty in May 2024, when Pedrinho had just taken charge and 777 was sidelined. He liked Admar’s project and the pay rise, but says he will only close a deal once he knows who is in charge. He is close to Admar and also likes Pedrinho.
Vasco do not foresee any issue paying a $300,000 release clause, around R$1.5 million. Last Friday he told Botafogo he knew of the interest and it was for the clubs to resolve.
The Betis front is more complicated. Vasco have an agreement with Deossa and Betis, the player wants to join and the Spaniards accepted the terms. Even so, Betis are demanding guarantees over the SAF’s future that the Rio club cannot currently provide.
Vasco’s football department feel hamstrung, with a head coach and a midfielder the priorities. They await a court ruling while trying to convince Franclim and Betis, with people close to Pedrinho confident the picture could change but unable to offer guarantees.
